There is not one solution for data input but many as the location and the type of application influences which device is best for the situation. The Digital Pen is one of them. There are several advantages in using this as opposed to other solutions:

• Usability: everyone can write so the digital pen is a nearly natural mean of inputting data;
• Cost effective: not as expensive as other devices and quite small, it can accomodate situations where the input device might be stolen or lost;
• Flexible: the pen can be used to write, draw and as such is good for creativity;
